Sorry, we don’t do wood park benches. We have a problem, like most concerned and informed citizens, about the use of old growth lumber and hardwoods (even FSC-certified woods) from developing countries, and as such, we draw the line. And many municipalities are joining us in the shift to more environmentally sensitive site furnishings that actually perform better over time – recycled plastic beats wood on every level (no rot, no need to paint or stain, no splinters – “ouch!”). It’s a win for the environment, a win for the customer, and ultimately, a win for the planet.
